Ethiopian Airlines to Launch New Direct Flights to Jizan, Saudi Arabia

Ethiopian Airlines will launch a new passenger service to Jizan, a key Red Sea port city in southwestern Saudi Arabia, starting February 1, 2026. The announcement was made by the airline’s Group CEO, Mesfin Tasew.

The new route will expand the carrier’s network in Saudi Arabia to five destinations, joining existing services to Jeddah, Dammam, Riyadh, and Madinah. The airline plans to operate four weekly flights to Jizan, providing additional connectivity for passengers across its global network.

Mesfin stated that the service aims to enhance trade, tourism, and people-to-people ties between Africa, the Middle East, and beyond. Ethiopian Airlines currently operates more than 40 weekly flights to Saudi Arabia and 136 weekly services to 14 destinations across the broader Middle East and Gulf region.

In addition to its direct flights, the airline offers extended connectivity through codeshare agreements with several regional carriers, including Saudia, Oman Air, and Etihad Airways.
